Hosting — What You Need to Know
When I build your website, one of the first things we’ll sort out together is where it lives — your hosting. If you have a domain and hosting already in place, fantastic! But, if you don’t…
I recommend and work with Stablepoint, a UK-based hosting company with an excellent reputation, 24/7 technical support and rock-solid reliability. I’ll set your account up on your behalf as part of the build process, but the account is yours in your name, paid by you directly.
This matters to me for you and it should matter to you because it means you’re never dependent on me for the fundamentals. If you ever wanted to part ways or bring someone else in, everything is yours to take with you. There are no ongoing subscriptions or fees to pay me. If you need something changed on our site, just pay me by the half hour for it but I will show you how to do simple changes yourself, that’s included with your site build, more about that in a moment.
Stablepoint’s basic hosting is affordable, they are my tried and tested supplier for many years now. You can pay monthly if you prefer, it includes SSL security, daily backups and email accounts as standard. I’ll handle the technical setup so you don’t have to think about it (or of course you can do this yourself if you prefer).
Ongoing WordPress Maintenance
Once your site is live, we meet on Zoom for a 20 minute (ish) training session where I’ll walk you through how to navigate into your website to change your own copy and images.
In addition I offer a special hourly rate to clients if you have a larger update to make and you’d rather I handled it.
